A two-day interactive session involving BJP ministers in Maharashtra and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is scheduled for this weekend at the RSS office in Lower Parel, Mumbai. This meeting aims to strengthen coordination and discuss the Hindutva agenda, following a period of recalibration after the Lok Sabha elections. The session follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent address to Maharashtra’s ruling Mahayuti alliance MLAs, where he emphasized five key points.
Sources indicate that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, BJP state president and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, along with the newly appointed working state BJP president Ravindra Chavan, will be present. Of the 42 ministers in the state cabinet, 19 represent the BJP, 11 are from the Shiv Sena, and nine are from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Upcoming challenges include local body elections, with the Mumbai civic polls being a major focus. The RSS is expected to play a more significant role in these elections compared to previous years.
An RSS member familiar with the matter stated that the meeting’s objective is to reflect on core ideological topics such as Hindutva, while also addressing broader societal concerns. Issues like the situation of Hindus in Bangladesh and the cross-border movement of undocumented migrants are among the matters set for discussion.
